Whether the screen is a Samsung in a Calgary basement, a Firestick in a Halifax apartment or an Android box at a lake in northern Ontario, setting up SMARTIFLIX follows the same short routine. You install a player, give it three details from your activation message, and wait a moment while the channel list loads. Those three details are the same for every device on the account, so once the first TV is done, each additional screen takes only a few minutes.
What differs between devices is the path to the right menu: which app store to open, where the settings are, and what the sign-in screen calls each field. That is what every guide below spells out. Pick a guide by the hardware in front of you or by the player you have already chosen.
Player apps side by side
| Player | Cost to you | Runs on | Pick it when |
| IPTV Smarters Pro | Free | All | It is your first setup, or the screen is an Apple device |
| TiViMate | Free; Premium $9.99 a year or lifetime | Android TV, Firestick, Android boxes | You want a cable-style guide, recording, or two games at once |
| Smart IPTV | Small one-time fee | Samsung, LG | The TV has no stick or box plugged in |
| MyTVOnline / MAG portal | Included with box | Formuler, MAG | You own a box built for IPTV |
| VLC / web player | Free | PC, Mac | You only want to check the login works on a computer |
App prices are set by each developer, not by SMARTIFLIX, and may be shown in another currency on the developer's own site.
Before you open a guide
- Have your activation message open. Copy the server address exactly, including the http:// part and any port number. Most "wrong login" errors are a single mistyped character.
- Check the device's time zone. The program guide follows the device clock. A stick set up in one province and used in another will show every start time shifted until it is corrected.
- Know which language the device is in. The guides name menus in English. On a TV or stick set to French, the options sit in the same places under French labels.
- Put the TV near a strong signal. If the router is in the basement and the TV is two floors up, a cable or a mesh Wi-Fi node will do more for picture quality than any app setting.

Setup questions from Canadian households
What does setting up SMARTIFLIX actually involve?
Three things. Install a player app on the device, choose its Xtream Codes sign-in, then type in the server address, username and password from your activation message on WhatsApp. The channel list and guide then load by themselves. What changes from one device to another is only where the app store and settings menus are, which is what each guide explains.
My TV menus are in French. Can I still follow the guides?
Yes. The guides use the English menu names, and on a device set to French the same options appear in the same places under French labels, so Settings shows as Paramètres. If a label is hard to match, switch the device to English for the setup and back to French afterwards. Your channels are not affected either way.
Do I need a cable box, a dish or an installer?
None of those. You need a device that runs apps, such as a smart TV, a streaming stick, an Android box, a phone or a computer, a home internet connection (about 25 Mbps for 4K, less for HD), and a subscription or free trial. Most households already have everything except the login.
Which player is the easiest to start with?
IPTV Smarters Pro. It is free, available on nearly every platform, and asks for little more than your login. If you later want a fuller cable-style guide, recording or multi-view on Android hardware, TiViMate is the usual next step, and the same login works in both.
What if I get stuck halfway through?
Take a photo of the screen and send it to support on WhatsApp. Someone can then see exactly where you are and talk you through the next step while you are still in front of the TV. Most setups take about ten minutes, and the guides are written for people doing it for the first time.
I am moving provinces. Do I need to set anything up again?
Your login keeps working, so there is nothing to reinstall. Do check the time zone on each device in your new home, because the program guide follows the device clock. A stick that still thinks it is in Halifax will show game times an hour or more off in Winnipeg.
